FAQs

What clay is used in the sculptures?

Polymer clay is primarily used in the miniature work. For any ceramics, I use Earthenware pottery clay.

*

What resin is used in the art works?

A high quality epoxy resin. It is UV stabilised, VOC-free, food safe, BPA- free, non yellowing, very hard and durable.

*

Where is the best place to keep resin pieces?

In any spot you like that does not have direct sunlight or UV light for extended periods of the day. Although the resin is UV stabilised, over exposure can lead to discolouration. Works are best stored away from direct UV sources, extreme temperatures and chemicals.

*

How can artworks be cleaned/ maintained?

See previous answer for some tips. All artworks can be carefully wiped or lightly dusted using a soft cotton cloth. Micro fibre is best. Stains on resin works can be cleaned gently with a cloth dampened with plain water. Please do not use any cleaning products or chemicals on any pieces.

Are commissions accepted all of the time?

No. At any given time, I may already be working on a project. The best and quickest way to find out if custom orders are open, is to check on my Instagram page (@aysaheffernan) and/ or send me a Direct Message there for a same day response. Alternatively, you may use the contact form on this site but there may be a delay of up to 48 hours for a response.

*

Commissions are closed but what if I want an item made for a special occasion and need it quick?

If custom orders are not accepted at the time, this may be due to a number of varying factors and I reserve the right to refuse. However, on the rare occasion, I may be able to take an order so get in touch. See previous answer for info on how.

*

Do you accept part payments/ payment plans?

No, apologies for any inconvenience caused by this but at this moment items are expected to be paid for in full prior to dispatch.

*

Can any pieces be reserved/ held?

If you happen to see an item on my Instagram page that isn’t not yet up on the website or is not part of a series, then it may be possible to. A quick Direct Message can confirm at the time.

Is there’s a price list for commissioned work?

No. Every custom order varies as does the price depending on the time and materials required.

*

What happens if items are damaged in the mail?
